Set in South London: The central character is dear old Mum who keeps a tight hold on her three sons, binding them to her with gifts, threats and ruthless exploitation of their weaknesses. The family is unwillingly brought together to celebrate Mum’s wedding anniversary (regardless of deceased Dad), revolt is in the air. Middle son Terry gathers the courage to tell mum that he is emigrating with his family and youngest son Tom breaks the news of his impending marriage. Mum fights back with every weapon in her armoury …but will her long ascendancy be broken as last?
