Killing Time

The Crescent Youth Theatre Juniors present
a devised piece based upon the work of artist Cornelia Parker

An inventive and original piece of physical theatre from the Crescent’s own Youth Theatre.

A devised work suggested by four or five pieces of art from the exhibition of Cornelia Parker’s work at the Ikon Gallery entitled ‘Never Endings’. Characteristically ambitious in both form and content, it consists of installation, sculptural pieces and video, the latter constituting a significant development in the artist’s practice. This was a work which turned members of the public into the spectacle as we view them observing a scene, oblivious to being watched themselves.

Featuring installations such as “Heart of Darkness” – involving charred timber resulting from a fierce forest ?re that happened in Florida in 2004. And ‘Killing Time” presenting footage filmed on four consecutive days at an unspecified location in America. It features a group of tourists waiting, watching with cameras, ready to capture a breathtaking event.

Tickets: £9 – £10 (Concessions £9)
