The History Boys

History? It’s just one f***ing thing after another …  A grammar school in Sheffield in the early 1980s. Eight clever, irreverent, randy and funny would-be Oxbridge schoolboys learn about history, life, loyalty and sex. Their teachers: Hector – old school, unpredictable and hands-on (literally), believes exams are the enemy of education; Irwin – young, bright and daring (almost), turns everything they have ever learnt on its head. And the Headmaster wants big results. Alan Bennett’s hugely funny and sad play has taken theatres by storm across the globe. Olivier, Tony and Evening Standard awards for ‘best play’. Close Up Theatre Fringe sell-outs: 2004–2009.
