Observations

The English like their puns but in this play there are clever triple meanings.
And by the way, the play is a scream and Barrie Ingham as Lord Foppington a triumph. I will never forget his flourish as he turns to the other guests at the end, concealing his pain at loosing the damsel he was after but determined that a lord has to rise above it.
