Mister Universe
This specific production does not yet have a description, but the play itself does:
Bernard Hepton wrote the following in the Birmingham Rep production programme to describe this original musical.
“Mars, the God of War, the Mister Universe of the title, is the original problem child. He sees himself as the white hope of Olympus and is dismayed to find that his prestige on Earth has reached an all-time low. He devises an ingenious plan to go down to Earth to win back his popularity. But, as ever, he goes much too far, with startling results. Designed as an entertainment with 23 musical items, the scene alternates between Jupiter’s council chamber on Olympus and a farmhouse in Flanders, where six soldiers pass the most bewildering day of their young lives.” Bernard Hepton
