Stop – .. Go!

Charlot revue, comprising ‘The London Stop-Go’, ‘Mr Marks and Mr Spencer’, ‘A Question of Opinion’, ‘Buying a Shirt’, ‘Rhythm in a Great Big Way’ and, in Part II, ‘Do We Appeal to You’, ‘A Californian Romance’, ‘And Afterwards at’, ‘Headlines’, ‘Now in the Morning’, ‘I Think You’ll Agree It’s Love’, ‘Simultaneous Pantomime’ and ‘I Want to Throw Stones’.

The Stage’s review from Manchester (29th August 1935, page 10) referred to two additional sketches by R J Finnemore, which appear to have been dropped in the West End.

Despite breaking box-office records at the Vaudeville, a hoped-for transfer was precluded by Mary Brian’s film commitments and the fact that Douglas Byng and Dorothy Ward had been engaged for panto. (‘Chit Chat: A Charlot Pantomime’, The Stage 24th October 1935, page 8.)
