Assassins
Having toured their production of ‘Assassins’ to New Zealand in 2009, this acclaimed musical theatre group, under the direction of John Lonsdale, returns to the Fringe with an expanded version of Sondheim’s piece. Showbiz razzamatazz flirts with Presidential assassination in this darkly audacious and comically surreal musical vaudeville of the American Dream. Sandbach School Theatre’s ‘Oh! What A Lovely War’ gained sensational acclaim at the 2008 Fringe (***** [ThreeWeeks]). Assassins marks their return to Edinburgh with Sondheim’s sophisticated show taking us on a poignant and powerful journey to the heart of the American psyche.
