Schippel, the Plumber
C P Taylor’s adaptation of Carl Bernheim’s play PAUL SCHIPPEL was originally presented, as SCHIPPEL, at the Traverse and Open Space theatres in 1974, then in the West End (as THE PLUMBER’S PROGRESS) in 1975. A TV version, entitled WINGS OF SONG, was screened in 1978.
This production won a Critics Award at the 1992 Edinburgh Festival and in 1994 was revived at Greenwich, with two cast changes.
