The Bed-Sitting Room
Advertised as a ‘new edition’ of the 1963 play, incorporating references to Vietnam and the new Prime Minister etc. A large-scale tour and West End run of this version followed from February 1967 (qv).
From 19th December 1966, this production continued to play in the evening while TREASURE ISLAND was performed twice during the day. The same parrot was used in both shows. (Desmond Lyons, ‘How Mr Wilson beat the squeeze’, Daily Mirror 10th January 1967, page 13.)
