Observations

My sister and I went to the Auckland production (and queued at the stage door afterwards for Johnny Farnham’s autograph) but we’re sure it was at His Majesty’s Theatre, not St James. Maybe there was a switch after the programmes got printed!

I was managing the Eastern Suburbs edition of The Courier newspaper in Panmure, NZ when Dame Anna appeared in Charlie Girl. I took a young reporter to met her at her hotel for an interview I am from St. Albans in UK where Dame Anna was at school. Her spouse Herbert Wilcox was with her and remembered the Peahen Hotel in the town. The meeting took place just days before I left to return to the UK in June 1972
