Observations

  1. On 19th June 2021 at 4:28 p.m., EdJudy noted:

I played the part of Bob in The Private Eye in a community production in Irvington, NY in the early sixties, If I may say so, it was my finest hour.

I had been away from (college) theatre for about 10 years; my wife at the time had encouraged me to try out for the role and I found it most satisfying.

However, my wife chose to view a rehearsal about a week or so before the performance. Unfortunately, she went ballistic during the intimate scenes between Bob and Doreen. Rather than junk the show, the Director found a way to rewrite some of the intimate scenes to placate my wife. He did a good job, and the play was well-received.

As a critic, I always thought the play was a tragic commentary on human life, rather than a comedy.

I would welcome any suggestions as to where on the internet I might find a performance of the entire production, old or new.
