On 22^nd December 2017 at 1:46 a.m., Mudshark noted:

This production produced by Jimmy Donahue actually opened at the Manchester Opera House, some time in late September 1936. lt starred Lupe Velez and Ruth Etting. lt then transferred to London’s West End. lt was a flop. lt had cost Donahue 150,000 dollars. [1.5 million in today’s terms]
