SPECTACLE OF “ WHITE HORSE INN”
NO wonder “ White Horse Inn ” will outlive many musical plays of its day. Its haunting melodies, sparkling comedy, dancing and spectacle make Prince Littler’s production at the New one of the most ambitious ever brought to Hull. A supporting company and orchestra totalling a hundred performers make the show the biggest venture yet attempted at Kingston-square. Nita Croft is an instantaneous success with her charm of manner and lovely singing; Hal Bryan and Eddie Childs make the most of comedy roles, and Eddie Childs scores heavily in his eccentric dancing numbers with Gretchen Franklin. Valerie Hay, grand singer and capital dancer, has bevy of beauty assisting her. Other highlights are the singing Donald Mather and Michael Cole of the never-to-be-forgotten theme songs and the yodelling numbers Maria Drozdzyuska. New Theatre patrons have indeed a treat in store.
