This was the opening production for the brand-new Arts Theatre Club, built on the easily accessible north side of Great Newport Street for a cost of £18500. It was described as combining “the amenities of a London Club and a congenial place for those interested in the theatre on both sides of the curtain” (information from “The Arts Theatre 1927 to 1981”, by Wendy and J.C.
