Hay Fever
This production led off a 13-week summer repertoire, with NIGHT MUST FALL opening on 20th July and the two plays then alternating. Jessie Matthews starred in both.
Michael Winter subsequently cast Matthews in another revival of HAY FEVER, opening at Worcester’s Swan Theatre on 19th March 1975. However, it was announced the day before that she had fallen ill and would be replaced by Joyce Donaldson. (Keith Brace, ‘Arts News: Worcester star ill’, Birmingham Daily Post 18th March 1975, page 2.)
