The Silver Slipper

The planet Venus was the basis of Owen Hall’s book.

This story is centered upon a Venusian maiden called Stella (originally played by Winifred Hare) , who longs to find out what man is like – Venus being an ‘Adamless Eden’. Mischievously, she lets her satin slipper tumble down to earth and is banished from Venus to recover it. The slipper falls into the garden of Sir Victor Shallamar where it is found by his niece, Wrenne, daughter of the book-making shyster, Samuel Twanks. Stella, arriving on earth, proceeds to wreak havoc as she learns the art of flirtation and finds out just what men are like. Finally she tires of Earth life and takes herself and her slipper back to Venus.
