    Comment: “The play was performed in its entirety, the performance lasting from 7:00 until 11:15.

    Reviews: Olivier’s Hamlet was ”not intellectually brilliant,“ but combined ”intelligence with grace in an unusual degree“ (Times 06/01/1937)

    ”Esme Church substituted for Dorothy Dix at short notice, when the latter was suffering from tonsillitis. The production was to be given at Kronborg Castle, Elsinore, Denmark, on 2/6/37 but, because of heavy rain it was performed in a nearby hotel." (Times 03/06/1937)
