Studio 54
Originally built as an opera house, it was later converted into a television studio. It gained infamy in the late 1970s as a disco nightclub, where “anyone who was anyone” could be seen. In 1980, it closed after the owners were sent to prison for tax evasion and skimming. It reopened in 1981 under new ownership and after several unsuccessful attempts to revive the building as a club, it became part of the Roundabout Theater company in 1998, who put on shows there to this day.
