Terence Duff’s first recorded appearance on the stage was in November 1924 at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds, appearing with the Ben Greet Players in ‘the Scottish play’. He was 17 years and one month old and had not long left school. Later that decade, he worked with Frank Gerald in THE SEVENTH GUEST before giving himself the stage-name Patrick Desmond and going off on his own.
