Arthur Sinbad Pitt

Born Arthur Sinbad Pitt in Portsmouth, Hampshire. A Cabinet Maker by trade he moved into stage carpentry and then acting. Earliest appearance found to date was in the “Stowaway” in 1890 at the Royal, Portsmouth as “Paul Inglis”. Toured with Leonard Rayne’s Company as an actor and also head man overseeing stage carpenters, property men, etc. in South africa in 1897, 1898 and 1900. In November 1909 touring in “The Midnight Wedding”, 1910 and 1911 touring with his wife Cecilia Fisher in “A Wrecker of Men”. 1911 “Queen of the Redskins”. 1917 “London Pride” in Edinburgh. 1920 played Henry Hobson in the film “Hobsons Choice” (Master Film Company).
1920 “A Southern Maid” in Edinburgh. 1924 played Mustapha in “Alfs Button” Princes Theatre, London. He played various characters in numerous productions up until his last known appearance in “Arsenic and Old Lace” at the Grand, Blackpool in 1944 playing Rev. Dr. Harper.
