Violet Faucheux

Violet Faucheux was a dancer with Anna Pavlova’s company for a number of years. She joined the Pavlova Company in approximately 1923 and was still a member of the Company at Pavlova’s death in January 1931. The Anna Pavlova Company continued for a short while after Pavlova’s death, and Faucheux was a member until it was disbanded sometime in mid-1931. Miss Faucheux, when playing the mother of Giselle in that ballet, recalled having to ‘rescue’ one of the corps who was, apparently, in danger of being strangled by Pavlova, in the title role, who was ‘living’ the part.
