Marie Linden
Born Mary Agnus Clinton – Bridport Dorset
the daughter of John Wade Clinton (Actor) and Caroline Clinton (Nee Rogers, Actress). Marie Linden was the sister of Laura Linden. Marie’s first appearance in theatre was at The Theatre Royal Oxford in a production of Dick Whittington. In 1880 she toured England with a group known as the Mijilton’s as Berte Kilvin in ’Round the Clock’ and as Polly Grut in ‘Gabriel Grut’. In 1901 Marie made her first tour of America with E.S.Willard, Playing Clarica in ‘The Cardinal’.
