Edward Royce
Edward Royce was a stage manager and producer. He was born 14th December 1870 in Bath. The son of Edward William Royce. He originally set out to be a scenic artist and for some years was apprenticed to that profession. He also studied dancing but turned his hand to the art of stage production. He became a successful producer of musical comedy having had over 20 years experience with notable productions at The Savoy, Aldwych, Hicks, Lyric, Gaiety, Adelpho, Vaudeville, Palace and Daly’s Theatres. For many years he was connected with George Edwardes management and also staged many of his productions in New York.
