Shirley Sands
Shirley won the Bridgwater Carnival as solo singer when she was 15. She appeared in cabaret and also with Tommy Steele, Acker Bilk and Frankie Howerd. She also appeared in The Good Old Days on BBC. She sang solo at the Albert Hall when she was 18.
She understudied Janet Wilson in Bells Are Ringing at the Colliseum in 1957 She went on to appear in Carnival at the Lyric Theatre in 1963 as Rosalie.
