She married Denis Mullaney in 1956 and they divorced in 1977

She married John Knox in 1977 and they divorced in 1994

She made her professional stage debut 1962 at the Oldham Coliseum

She is currently known professionally as Barbara Knox and is most famous for playing Rita Littlewood / Fairclough / Sullivan / Tanner in the TV Soap Coronation Street. She first appeared in 1968 in just one episode as a friend of Dennis Tanner but joined the cast properly in 1972.
