Peter Bramley

Peter Bramley trained with Jacques Lecoq in Paris, studied drama at Royal Holloway University of London and has an MA in Theatre Practices (Manchester). Further training includes work with Teatr Piesn Kozla (Song of The Goat) and Gardzienice (Poland).

Peter took up the Senior Lecturer post of Head of Movement at Rose Bruford College in 2006. He has taught at Royal Holloway University of London, Brunel University, Central School of Speech and Drama, Goldsmith’s College, Greenwich University, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Yale University (USA), The Moscow Arts Theatre School (Russia), through Soulpepper Theatre Company and Equity showcase in Toronto, Canada and at DAMU in Prague, Czech Republic.

Peter is Artistic Director of Pants on Fire, which he founded in 2004. He has directed all of the company’s productions to date, performing in USA, Canada, Germany, France, and throughout the UK. He has written several plays, including The Fumidor, an original adaptation of Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio and Ovid’s Metamorphoses ,which won the 2010 Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award, played Off Broadway in New York and was funded by the Arts Council to tour the UK. Rose Bruford productions he has directed include: Love of the Nightingale (Unicorn Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Yerma, Blood Wedding, The Visit, The Government Inspector, A Doll’s House, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Kafka’s The Trial.
