Liz King

Worked as assistant to designer Dorothy Draper 1969–72, at the Palace theatre Westcliff, with Ray Cooney Productions. During this period, she designed a couple of plays, of which one was Unexpected Guest, with Director Tony Clayton. After leaving Westcliff in 1972, she worked for the Welsh National Opera Company, as Head of Scenic Art, where she also designed a 2 operas. One was a reworked design of Barber of Seville (an old production of the WNO) director Malcom Fraser. Also Cosi Fan Tutti with director Michael Geliot, costume designer Sue …. ? Left WNO 1989 with husband to tour Europe, they settled in France where they initially continued to work in local theatre, and community theatre. She has been painting since her arrival in France, and exhibits her works regularly . She has also painted frescoes, murals and trompe l’œil in several Châteaux , and continues to do so in parallel with her exhibitions.
