Damian Partington

Damian has been involved with Technical Theatre for over 30 years and has been a resident carpenter at the Piccadilly Theatre, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, The Theatre Royal Haymarket and Chichester Festival Theatre. As a Production Carpenter and one of the founding members of Deadline Technical Management, his work includes, Mamma Mia, Napoleon, Cats, Starlight Express, Fossie, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Jesus Christ Super Star, Sunset Boulevard, Calamity Jane, Saturday Night Fever, Elisabeth (Holland) The King and I, Noises Off, Tonight’s the Night, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, Bombay Dreams, We Will Rock You and The Lion King.
Since moving into Production Management Damian has worked for The English Shakespeare Company and Theatre Royal Bath Productions. He Production Managed The Peter Hall Seasons in 2003 and 2004 at Bath and the 2005 Chichester Festival Theatre Season, Waves and Miss Julie ( Germany) His West End credits include Betrayal (Duchess), Blithe Spirit (Savoy), Hamlet (Old Vic), Acorn Antiques (Theatre Royal Haymarket), The Far Pavilions (Shaftesbury Theatre), Desperately Seeking Susan (Shaftesbury Theatre) Smaller(Lyric) Into the Hoods (Novello and Southbank) French and Saunders Still Alive (Theatre Royal Drury Lane) Billy Elliot (Broadway NY) and My Fair Lady in Malaysia, Love Never Dies (Adelphi), Blaze (Peacock), Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake (Saddlers Wells) Some Like it Hip Hop (Peacock)
Damian’s work in Opera includes Don Giovanni, and Tamerlano for Scottish Opera and La Clemenza di Tito, Der Rozenkaviler, After Dido, Ulyseus, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Anish Kapoor’s Tristan and Isolde and the Olivier award winning Castor and Pollux for the ENO. Nono for 59 Productions in Europe and Tristan and Isolde European tour for The Philharmonia Orchestra.
Formally Technical Director of the Birmingham Stage Company, where he Production Managed Jungle Book, Horrible Histories, Danny Champion of the World, Kensuke’s Kingdom, Proof , Treasure Island and Horrible Science. He also the Ice Installation Manager for PWR Events, building six ice rinks around London, including Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. 2007–2012. Damian was the Director of Productions for Sir Peter Hall’s Kingston Rose Theatre. As chairman of Wise&Wonderful Ltd who are Olympic 2012 contractors and toured We Will Rock You and The Lion King.
As Technical Director for National Theatre Productions Damian managed the national and international tours of WarHorse and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time as well as a five year local language tour of WarHorse in China.
For Phil McIntyre Entertainments Damian managed the tours of We Will Rock You and the West End seasons for Only Fools and Horses The Musical, Upstart Crow, We Will Rock You at the London Coliseum.
