Meriel Patrick

Meriel has worked with a number of different theatre companies in Oxford, including OTT (Richard III, As You Like It, The History Boys, Much Ado About Nothing), and Oxford Theatre Guild (Merry Wives of Windsor). She was also a long-standing member of the Oxford University Gilbert and Sullivan Society as both performer and director, and formed part of the team that wrote and produced The Topsy Turvy World of Gilbert and Sullivan (performed at the Oxford Playhouse, and at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton).

In recent years, however, she has more frequently been found behind the scenes wielding a tape measure and needle, or out in the auditorium as an occasional reviewer for Whatsonstage.com.

When not in the theatre, Meriel combines several different jobs, including teaching philosophy to University of Oxford visiting students, supporting and training researchers, and working as a research assistant for the OED.
