Dale Burridge

Biography – At the young age of 19 Dale Burridge commenced his professional career in Australia with the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust’s Productions of the Sound of Music and Oliver 1980 to 1984. He then travelled to the UK where he trained at the Academy of Live and Recording Arts and the London Actors Centre. Dale was cast as Rolf in the West End No 1 Tour Triumph Apollo production of The Sound of Music touring the UK on two consecutive tours. In 1989, Dale returned to Australia to create the role of Alan Courtney in Seven Little Australian’s the musical and then featured in the 1989 production of Anything Goes covering the male lead Billy and featured as one of the main sailors. Dale then began his long association with Cameron Macintosh and Les Miserables, initially being cast as the student Courfeyrac, understudy to Enjolras and Marius in the original 1989 Melbourne season of Les Miserables. Dale was then cast by Hal Prince in the role of Raoul, opposite Marina Prior, in the original Premier Australian production of Phantom of the Opera, playing the role for two years. Following the season Dale appeared as young Scrooge, opposite Keith Michelle in the 1994 premier Australian production of Scrooge – the Musical.
At this time Dale began performing in numerous concert performances throughout Australia including the Sydney Opera House with Marina Prior. Engagements at the Melbourne Concert Hall include an evening with Fred and Ginger with Rhonda Burchmore, Brigadoon to Broadway with the Australian Pops Orchestra and the 1994 Morning Melodies Christmas concert. Dale has made constant appearances on Australia’s various television variety shows, and was a regular performer on Bert Newton’s Good Morning Australia as well as playing Tim Davies in the original TV drama series Prisoner. Dale has also performed as the featured Artist on the QE2 cruise liner and many other luxury cruises as a head-liner, performing for their international guests.
Dale returned to his role in the Phantom of the Opera before embarking on the International 1996 Tour of Les Miserables in the role of the student leader, Enjorlas.
Upon his return to Australia Dale has performed in concert with Maestro Tommy Tycho and the Sydney Opera House Orchestra. He has appeared at Darling Harbour in their Christmas Concert and Australia Day Concert, 1997. Dale was also invited as the guest artist with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra in A Night in Tuscany, the guest performer with the Tasmania Symphony Orchestra as well as making a guest appearance in the Wiggles film Big Red Car as Rolland the Remarkable.
Dale has been guest performer at major launches, conventions, and special events all over Australia and Asia and across the globe. Dale also received acclaim for his one man show, Going It Alone, at The Stables Theatre as well as being invited by The Queensland Symphony Orchestra to star in a special Gershwin Concert series under the baton of Maestro Tommy Tycho.
In 2000 Dale founded SMA Productions Pty Ltd which he was at the helm as Managing Director for 20 years and co-creator of shows such as Boys in the Band, The Diamonds, Rat Pack Reloaded, Opera by Disguise and String Diva. SMA became one of Australia’s leading entertainment production companies with its shows performing in concerts, on luxury cruises and major corporate events across the globe.
More recently after exiting SMA and selling his share of the business, Dale started his own Production Company, Dale Burridge Productions. Dale was also invited to stage his one man show “Back on the Boards” at the renowned Sydney Cabaret venue Claire’s Kitchen combining his passion for performance, singing and connection and relaunching his performance career. 2021 Dale launched his one man show At The Crossroads to rave reviews touring in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Hobart Australia throughout 2021 and 2022.
