Observations

  1. On 29th September 2023 at 10:59 a.m., Motownliz noted:

I saw this play on 19 October 1992. I travelled from America, alone, for my first trip abroad, using my first passport. I was 36 years old. It was also the same day I first met the man who would become my husband the following year. He was the landlord of Sam Wellers pub on Upper Borough Walls in Bath.

The play intrigued me when I was told about it because it starred Peter O’Toole and I thought it would be lovely to see a renowned actor and be able to have this as part of my memories of this trip. What a depressing play! Peter O’Toole essentially played himself and seemed half-pissed throughout. The plot was about a married couple hashing out that their marriage isn’t working. The play was in previews, before ostensibly moving to London’s West End. I don’t think it ever made it there.
