Observations

1961 saw spike milligan performing for the first time in live theatre. Iknow this because I played jim hawkins. We had a preview for Doctor Bernados Homes kids who were somewhat noisy ( unaccostomed to the live theatre constraints of behavior) after we took our bows and made our way off, Spike vigorously asked no-one in particular “ So. This is the bloody legitimate theatre” . He was very funny as Ben Gunn and was a very funny ad libber.
