John Waldon
John began his career in the theatre as a member of the Roundabout Theatre in Education company at Nottingham Playhouse. From there he appeared as Arthur Holmwood in the Plymouth Theatre Company production of Dracula. He remained at Plymouth playing roles in Allen Bennet’s plays Getting on and Habeas Corpus, lastly playing John Snow in Queen Elizabeth slept here, in 1977, the Jubilee Year.
John moved to Canterbury for the autumn rep season at The Marlowe Theatre where he performed various roles in Ghost Train, Threepenny Opera, Macbeth, End of Term and Wizard of Oz.
Early the following year John was included in the international tour of the musical Raffles Lion of Singapore performing in Singapore and Hong Kong.
John moved to Chester Gateway Theatre to play Reuban in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, and the same role at The Swan Theatre Worcester, where he remained to complete a rep season playing roles in The Royal Hunt of the Sun and Pickwick.
